Plateau checker
Before you cut more food, find out what is most likely holding the scale still.
Your result
These tools give general estimates, not medical advice. If food, weight or exercise is causing you distress, a doctor or an organization such as NEDIC (Canada) or the National Alliance for Eating Disorders (US) can help.
How this works
The checker compares your answers with the most common causes of a stall, in the order we would look at them with a client. It will not suggest eating less if your intake is already very low.
Common questions
How long is a real plateau?
A useful rule is at least 3 to 4 weeks with no change in your weekly average, tape measurements or photos.
Should I cut calories when I plateau?
Not first. Check tracking, weekends, steps and sleep before you make any change to your food.
